The coach of the Giallorossi spoke about the Spaniard in the press conference ahead of Salernitana-Roma. Mourinho wants Mayoral in his roster and unveils possible plans of changing tactical approach in the future.

His team is not going to be always the same. I’m talking about the way Mourinho wants to face his opponents during the season. The Portuguese coach has great experience in Serie A and knows that every game can be very tough from a tactical standpoint.

In today’s press conference ahead of Salernitana-Roma, Jose Mourinho also spoke about Borja Mayoral. The Spaniard did quite well in his first season in the Eternal City. He scored 17 goals and 7 assists in 47 appearances. In the 2.320 minutes played, the 24-year-old from Parla (Spain) has shown his quality and ability.

Although Mourinho preferred to play the former Chelsea youngster Abraham and the talented Shomurodov so far, Mayoral will be taken into consideration because: “we need three strikers, we cannot face this season with only two…we won’t take that risk. Borja is a quality player who scored goals last season. He is a great professional. I wouldn’t be happy to see him leaving,” Mourinho said to the press.

The Portuguese coach also unveiled that his side may be changing shape on the pitch during the season. The Giallorossi may be playing with two strikers because that can be the right tactical approach at times.
