Roma Runs Out of Ideas at the Stadio Tardini: 2-0 for Parma

Marco Canoniero /

The Giallorossi left Parma with a disappointing 2-0 and a weak performance after their Europa League efforts.

Many teams pay a high price in their national leagues after their international matches. Roma seemed to be very tired at the Stadio Tardini today.

Although the Giallorossi had a couple of opportunities to get the lead right at the beginning of the match, Dzeko and Pellegrini missed their chance and Parma scored a few minutes after with a lethal counterattack not read properly by Kumbulla and his teammates.

Paulo Fonseca tried to inject a little bit of strength and physicality 10 minutes into the second half, but D’Aversa‘s men defended with ardor and dedication leaving their keeper Sepe safe.

Weak performance of the group led by the Portuguese coach. No player was able to change the pace of the game and create clear dangerous chances. The plays of the Lupi have been slow and predictable and the home side hasn’t had much trouble managing their double advantage.

Carles Perez is the only positive note for the Giallorossi today. The Spaniard replaced Pedro in the 60th minute and tried to shake his teammates pushing from the right side and moving toward the center of the field to shoot on target. Sepe made a great save on one of his offensive efforts.
