Roma coach Fonseca held a press conference ahead of the Serie A clash against Inter. He spoke about the strength of Conte’s group but he knows that this match can be decided by little details.

We will be watching a very tactical match at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow. Both sides have a strong identity and a clear tactical approach. Roma likes to manage possession while the Nerazzurri are usually lethal on the counterattack.

It’s easy to understand that we cannot make mistakes against a qualitative team like Inter. We have to be very strict defensively having the confidence to manage the ball to find the space we want. But these matches can be decided by details and we worked on them to make no mistakes.

H2H – ROMA v INTER

  • December 2, 2018: Roma v Inter 2-2 (Balde, Under, Icardi, Kolarov)
  • July 19, 2020: Roma v Inter 2-2 (de Vrij, Spinazzola, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku)

Inter‘s offensive sector often makes a difference. Lukaku and Martinez have the ability to change the outcome of a game at any time. But the Giallorossi have a solid defensive trio led by Chris Smalling. It’s going to be a tough clash between two sides that have the ambition to play an important role this season.

All players are very motivated and we are in a good moment. The team has the confidence and ambition to play a good match against a great side.
