Reportedly Dzeko is a target of Juventus and Roma may be interested in replacing the Bosnian striker with Milik. The Polish player would be great for the Lupi.
When we analyze a possible deal between top clubs we should also take into consideration stats. Although numbers can be deceptive at times, in this case they can tell us a lot in reference to the recent performance of Edin Dzeko and Arkadiusz Milik.
A striker should be evaluated for his proficiency in front of the net and the ability to make assists. There’s no doubt that the Bosnia international is a player capable of putting his teammates in the condition to score goals while Milik is only a great finisher.
Dzeko vs Milik | Stats comparison
The period under consideration is referred to the past two campaigns (2018-19 and 2019-20). I just wanted to primarily see the match played by both players, the goals scored as well as the assists they made. However, in order to know something more about their performance, I collected data based on the minutes played by these two fantastic strikers in the past two seasons.
EDIN DZEKO | Stats 2018-19 & 2019-20

ARKADIUSZ MILIK | Stats 2018-19 & 2019-20
- Total played: 82;
- Goals: 34;

(Data by Transfermarkt)
It seems to be clear that these players are very efficient in front of the net. Although both of them have been criticized at times, in the last two campaigns the have been scoring consistently.
As I previously mentioned, Dzeko is an amazing interpreter of the offensive strategies of his team, a striker capable of dropping down toward the midfield and operating as a trequartista as well (24 assists vs 4).
We also have to take into consideration that Napoli‘s star Milik played far fewer minutes than his colleague but he managed to score one goal more (34 vs 33).
The Final Review
According to the famous Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, Roma has been in contact with the entourage of Arkadiusz Milik. Reportedly, Edin Dzeko is the primary target of Juventus‘ new coach Andrea Pirlo.
If the Bianconeri will make a bid and the Bosnia international should decide to move to Turin, stats confirm that the Roma target Milik could be capable of replacing the captain of the Giallorossi.
The Polish striker is 26 years old while Dzeko is 34. Although Paulo Fonseca would lose something in terms of the development of his offensive strategies, in the last two campaigns the efficiency in the box of these two strikers has been practically the same.
This deal may or may not be finalized this transfer window because transfer market rumors/negotiations can rapidly change. Dzeko and Milik will reportedly decide what to do soon.
