The Giallorossi on the road to face Atalanta at the Gewiss stadium on Saturday. Roma need a convincing performance and Fonseca bets on experience.
Roma cannot fail anymore. A defeat against Atalanta on Saturday would clearly complicate their race for the Champions League. Paulo Fonseca needs experienced players to find the right countermeasures to Gasperini’s side.
“I expect a tough match. Atalanta are defensively an aggressive team and with great offensive quality. They play in a particular way with great players and a great coach. It’s going to be one of the most difficult games for us,” Fonseca said to the press today.
Experience can change the cards on the table at times. The Portuguese coach has a good roster with many talents but this is the moment to find the right balance and certainties.
Kluivert, Under, and Perez may sit on the bench at the Gewiss stadium because the Giallorossi need experienced players to face the Nerazzurri in front of their fans.
“We need experience. Young players may have more difficulty in these moments,” Fonseca said at the press conference ahead of Atalanta-Roma.
