The Brazilian defender is officially a new Roma player. Ibanez is very happy to begin a new professional adventure with such a glorious team.
Roma‘s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi finalized the first acquisition of the January transfer window. Roger Ibanez is now officially a new player of the Giallorossi.
The Brazilian defender signed a contract until June 30, 2024, as stated in the official statement released by AS Roma on their website.
“Roma have everything I want in a club….I’m really happy to be here,” stated Ibanez today.
Paulo Fonseca, therefore, got another centre-back. Roma’s executives firmly believe in his potential. He can train with top players for the next six months, a perfect solution to improve and make that necessary leap in quality to do great things with such a big club.
Today, Roger Ibanez also spoke to the official channel of the club of Trigoria for the first time and he admitted that Fonseca played a key role in his decision to join the Giallorossi.
“He complimented me and convinced me to come to Roma,” Ibanez said to Roma TV. When asked about the recent Derby della Capitale, the defender stated: “I watched it. The team seems to be very technical. I like their game system always keeping the ball.”
