Fonseca confident Dzeko will score against Brescia

The Portuguese coach firmly believes his striker will make the difference in the upcoming Serie A match Roma-Brescia.

Roma cannot wait anymore. The Giallorossi need three important points to fill the gap with those teams that are currently in a Champions League spot. Today’s home match against Brescia is the perfect opportunity to start again.

Paulo Fonseca wants his guys to give their best to overcome an obstacle that could be truly insidious. Everyone expects a convincing performance from Edin Dzeko. The Portuguese coach is confident his striker will make the difference today: “It’s true that Edin has not scored in recent games, but I am sure he will do so in the next match. I have no doubt about that,” Fonseca said yesterday during the press conference ahead of Roma-Brescia.

The Bosnian star is one of the most charismatic players in the group. No one can replace him at the moment even if Fonseca clearly stated that Zaniolo is capable of doing great things in every offensive role.

“I’m not thinking about alternatives [to replace his striker]. Dzeko will play…Zaniolo is a young player with great talent. But he must improve. He can play in every offensive role,” Fonseca confirmed to the press yesterday.
