Ranieri, a Wall too High to Climb for Roma 0-0

AS Roma Fans

Roma collects only one point at the Stadio Marassi. Ranieri made a few changes and Sampdoria kept the Giallorossi far away from the danger zone.

It was as tough of a match as we had expected during the week. Roma faced Sampdoria without many important players and Fonseca’s side even lost Cristante almost at the beginning of the match. This is not a great moment for the Giallorossi. Too many injuries are affecting the performance of the team.

Former Roma coach Claudio Ranieri pushed his men to give their best and showed a very compact side solid in the interception phase. The Italian coach spoke to Sky right after the match: “We worked well this week but when you do things between us you don’t have the proof of the opponent. Roma is a good side with great ball possession. We didn’t want to let them in through the center and we have always brought them towards the sides.”

Ranieri did a good job in his first appearance as a Sampdoria coach. Fonseca, instead, still has a lot to do to shape his side as he wants. The Portuguese coach was sitting on the stands today, but his group needs to speed up the action and create more dangerous opportunities.
