Roma’s coach praised the Italian midfielder for his consistency and tactical skills. Fonseca believes Cristante is an important piece to develop his offensive football.
There are many important players in this new Roma and although many believe that only Dzeko and Kolarov are the added values, Paulo Fonseca named one of his favorite midfielders in today’s press conference.
Bryan Cristante is the prototype of the modern midfielder, a player able to shield the backline and revert the action quickly. The Italy international apparently bewitched the Portuguese coach who firmly believes in him.
“He is a very smart player who knows what I want in that role. He is brave because you need to take risks in that position,” said Fonseca to the press today at Trigoria. “He is also very strong defensively.”
Cristante manages the operations in front of Roma’s backline. Jordan Veretout supported him in the last few Serie A matches. But Fonseca firmly believes the Italian is “one of the most important players we have.” His tactical balance makes a difference. Roma got another jewel in its roster. Bryan Cristante could definitely blossom under Fonseca’s management.
