Roma May be Keen to Strike a Deal for Chelsea’s Zappacosta

Roma sporting director Petrachi wants to strengthen Fonseca’s backline. A centre-back and right-back are necessary to build a highly competitive side.

There are still interesting players on the market. Although negotiations are always tough, everything could be easier when a coach believes that a player is not part of the club’s plans anymore.

Reportedly, Davide Zappacosta could leave the Blues by the end of the European transfer window. The Giallorossi may be interested in the Italy international albeit his price-tag (about €20m) could be too high for a player who made only 17 appearances last campaign (1,020 minutes).

The Giallorossi are reportedly keen to strike a deal for the Chelsea man. Roma sporting director Petrachi could finalize this deal bringing the Italian right-back to the eternal city on loan.

Zappacosta is a fullback capable of supporting the offensive phase. Karsdorp‘s recent departure left a gap there. Florenzi and Santon are the only available players on that flank. Another experienced player would bring immense benefits to the club. Roma may bring another Italian jewel close to the Colosseum.
