Roma coach Fonseca is not completely satisfied with the performance of his team against Perugia today. The Portuguese coach wants a new centre-back to complete his backline.
The Giallorossi need new players to strengthen Fonseca’s roster. The team is slowly absorbing the football credo of his coach but there’s something more that must be done off the pitch as well.
Gianluca Petrachi is working to bring a striker close to the Colosseum and Mauro Icardi has been linked to the club of the Italian capital recently. But Paulo Fonseca clearly stated he needs a centre-back to complete his backline: “In the second half, we have managed the possession better giving the right rhythm to our plays. But we still have to work. The players are doing what I ask them to do and this is positive,” said Paulo Fonseca in the press conference after the friendly match Perugia-Roma.
His offensive line is momentarily ok: “We have Dzeko and Schick and consequently we have to give priority to a defender,” stated the Portuguese coach.
Roma is, therefore, trying its best to sign Toby Alderweired. The Premier League will start on August 8th. Eight days are still available to bring the Belgian star to the city of kings and emperors. Reportedly, Gianluca Petrachi and the other Roma executives would like to do their best to convince Tottenham and the player to accept the Roma offers.
