Florenzi Might be Forced into a New Transformation

The captain of the Giallorossi could support Under on the right flank. A more offensive position for Florenzi after years played as a fullback.

Florenzi’s future seems to be uncertain again. Although he got the captain’s armband due to the departure of Daniele De Rossi, the Italian fullback doesn’t have a clear position on the pitch yet. All his previous coaches loved his ductility, a positive gift that could create problems for the player, though.

Not having a clearly defined role, the Italian player is always looking for stability. But this seems to be the fate of Alessandro Florenzi. Paulo Fonseca is testing his skills on the right flank. He played the Roma captain in the offensive area as well. The Giallorosso might be forced into a new transformation.

Florenzi could support Cengiz Under on the right-offensive flank. But the future of Florenzi may also depend on Karsdorop and Hysaj. Everyone hopes for the total recovery of the Dutch player after unlucky years that left him in the shadows. If Karsdorp will not be consistently fit, Fonseca could decide to trade him out.

The Portuguese coach is reportedly pushing for Elsaid Hysaj’s acquisition. According to the Italian outlet Il Mattino, Fonseca would have already called the Albanian right-back to convince him to join the Giallorossi.

If the current Napoli defender will pen a contract with the Lupi and the Dutch fullback should give clear signs of recovery, Alessandro Florenzi might be forced to play as an offensive winger. The future of the new Roma captain is being written in these weeks.
