The Italian winger could be moving to China soon after a great offer received by Shanghai Shenhua. The team located on China’s central coast needs to find an agreement with Roma.
The future of Stephan El Shaarawy is uncertain. The Italian winger has received a very good offer from Shanghai Shenhua and albeit he had stated “I don’t feel like leaving Europe. I still want to play in the most important football,” the player is now seriously thinking about the possibility of a new professional experience.
In his first press conference as a Roma sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi had stated: “The club and I are willing to renew his contract but it is necessary to understand that we cannot overdue. There’s the idea to renew his contract to an adequate amount because he deserves it. But I cannot compete with the money that China or somebody else could give him.”
According to the Italian Gazzetta.it, the €40 million net offered to El Shaarawy may have changed the cards on the table. But Roma needs to be satisfied as well. Reportedly, Petrachi is not willing to accept less than €20 million to let the winger go. According to several Italian outlets, the two clubs are negotiating at this time.
