Roma Could Become Source of Talents for the Italian National Team

The Giallorossi are proving great talents to Mancini’s national team. Roma’s influence on the future of the national football team could increase this summer.

All football lovers seem to be impressed by the young Italian talents who are regenerating a team that had failed to qualify for the World Cup. A team that Roberto Mancini is driving with tactical wisdom and renewed ambitions for victory. The coach of the Azzurri has clearly stated his goals in a recent interview released to the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

But the influence of the Roman club on the national team seems to be prominent and could increase in the future. Roma is currently proving Roberto Mancini with 5 players ready to blossom. Florenzi, Cristante, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Zaniolo, and El Shaarawy have been called to Coverciano and they may also be among the protagonists of EURO 2020. I didn’t mention Mirante on this list because his role seems to be more marginal as a third goalkeeper.

The summer transfer market and the development of other players could make Roma become a prominent source of talents for the Italian group. Luca Pellegrini could be the future left-back of Mancini’s side. The-20-year-old from Rome is a great prospect who did great things at Cagliari last season. Roma welcomed him back at Trigoria and he may be playing with the Lupi next campaign.

Recent market rumors confirm Roma’s strong interest in Nicolò Barella. Although the midfielder seems to be close to Inter, the Giallorossi are trying to snatch the player from Cagliari. Reportedly, Roma could include a couple of players and a substantial economic effort to find an agreement with the club of the Italian island and give Barella the keys of its midfield. The 22-year-old from Cagliari could be the perfect replacement of the legendary Daniele De Rossi.

But there could also be another Italian player near the club of Trigoria. Atalanta‘s Gianluca Mancini has been chased by Monchi and Roma may finalize his acquisition next July.

Is Atalanta’s Mancini Still a Roma Target?

If we add these three men to Fonseca‘s group, the Giallorossi could be providing 8 top players to the Italian national team in the near future. A much more Italian team with a great desire to amaze the whole world. Roma could become an inexhaustible source of talents for the Azzurri.
