The American investor wrote to Roma fans to express his feelings about the recent article published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica and the future of the club. Pallotta is not going to sell Roma at this time.
After a long time, Jim Pallotta talks directly to the hearts of the Roma fans. His long statement, released by the official AS Roma website, represents an attempt to clarify all that happened during this disappointing season. The Bostonian investor touched several topics opening his world to that of the passionate fans.
“We are working on attracting talented people who will help us put Roma back where it should be,” wrote Pallotta today. He wants to see his club competing for trophies and playing on the great stages against the best football clubs in the world. Although the Giallorossi have been consistently playing the Champions League in the past few years, the American businessman knows that that’s not enough if you do not win.
“That’s a major regret for me because that’s why I’m here to win trophies and create a team and an atmosphere that Roma fans worldwide will be proud of,” highlighted Pallotta. “We have poured in hundreds of millions of euros and have already spent probably 90 million euros on a stadium project that should have been approved years ago.”
Jim Pallotta seemed to be passionate and close to Roma fans. His words could have highlighted his immediate and future projects for the Lupi. Rome was not built in a day and his club needs meticulous and strategic choices to accelerate an evolutionary process that fans demand.
The American investor is not willing to give up! He wants the best for Roma, no one can change his mind. “I understand the history of almost 3,000 years of Rome and I know how this works. If people think they are going to drive me out, it’s just not going to happen,” wrote Jim Pallotta.
