The legendary captain of the giallorossi will play his last match with his beloved club against Parma at Stadio Olimpico.
Daniele De Rossi is leaving Roma at the end of the current campaign. Although the Italian midfielder would have preferred to stay for one or more years, the managers of the club have decided to end this professional bond.
“I was told yesterday but I’m not stupid. I knew that. If nobody calls you for a year it means that that was the direction,” said De Rossi to the press today at the Trigoria training center.
The former Italy international is sad but also ready to start a new experience. He won’t accept a managerial role offered by Pallotta at this time, but he will decide his future as a player right at the end of the season.
His love for the club and for the fans of the Lupi will never change though. “They have shown me affection for so many years. I made the same choice with them. I didn’t swap them with the chance to win albeit I had the opportunity to go away,” continued De Rossi.
“There’s a great love that will continue. I cannot exclude that in the next few years they will see me on the stands to support my friends.”
Daniele De Rossi will end his professional love story with Roma in a couple of weeks. But love doesn’t end. Circumstances change but it remains rooted in the hearts of passionate Roma fans.
