Ranieri: Many Things Will Change Without the Champions League

Roma leave the stadio Paolo Mazza with a deserved defeat and the Champions League becomes a mirage. Ranieri clearly speaks about the future without the qualification to the most prestigious international competition.

There’s nothing to preserve in today’s match between Spal and Roma. The giallorossi performed poorly against Semplici’s side and almost compromised their race towards qualifying for the Champions League. If revenues decrease the quality of the team could be drastically reduced and many players could be traded out.

“If Roma play the Champions League there’s a plan in place. But if we do not get there, many things will change. They have to demonstrate to be worth of Roma every day,” said Ranieri to Sky Italia right after today’s Serie A match.

“That’s what I told them since the first day. They must deserve what they earn. We lost against a team that earns less, which is more humble and more determined.”

Roma could be revolutionized without the Champions League. Claudio Ranieri has unveiled that something could happen without the economic resources of that European competition. “Something has to change without the Champions League revenue.”
