Di Francesco: We Needed a Win for the Champions League

The Italian coach is not happy with the performance of his group but blesses yesterday’s win against Bologna.

Top teams are able to collect victories even on days where everything seems to go wrong. Roma defeated Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday without impressing plays.

Eusebio Di Francesco had mixed feelings about about the last Serie A match but he blessed the victory, a necessary step to qualify to the next edition of the Champions League.

We couldn’t lose other points. Milan made a great result in Bergamo [against Atalanta],” said the Roma coach right after the match. “We have been good in getting a good result albeit our performance was not good.”

This is what happens when you do not change much. Mental freshness can make the difference. Atalanta and Lazio? The teams fighting for a place in the Champions League are always the same,” concluded Di Francesco.
