Di Francesco: Sometimes The Coach is Relative

Eusebio Di Francesco - AS Roma

Cagliari-Roma ends 2-2 after Maran’s side historical comeback. Di Francesco expressed his frustration in the post-match interviews.

Eusebio Di Francesco seems to be helpless and confused in front of the bizarre performances of his group. A man who does not seem to have the strength to react and make himself understood by his players. What has happened today is unprecedented in the world of football. Cagliari made a legendary comeback scoring the equalizer in a double numerical inferiority and without their best players.

The Italian outlet Sky Sport interviewed Di Francesco right after the match and the Italian coach stated: “In a match, you play against opponents and you can suffer. Today, we had suffered little or nothing and we could have scored the 3-0. In the last minutes, the physical condition and the anger of the opponents can grow too. I changed a few players because we were not lucid anymore and unable to keep the possession of the ball,” said Di Francesco.

“Things must be analyzed at 360 degrees. The team has always shown mental problems. In the second half, we were mentally fragile even in reading certain situations.”

“There was a great experience on the field. Sometimes, the coach is relative. But I have to take my responsibilities. I’m angry, we had the game in our hands,” said the Roma coach to Sky Sport.
