Former Juventus Star Compares Roma to Liverpool FC

Alessandro Del Piero firmly believes in the qualities of Di Francesco’s roster albeit a top player has left the club.

There are different points of view about Roma. The club of the Italian capital is still one of the top sides of the ‘Bel Paese’ albeit several players left the club last summer.

The Spaniard traded Alisson, Nainggolan, and Strootman out implementing a new strategy based on the acquisition of young and talented players.

Nobody knows if Justin Kluivert or Ante Coric will be able to become stars but their qualities are really impressive and Di Francesco seems to be willing to give them a chance.

A former Juventus star said positive words about the giallorossi in a recent interview with the Italian outlet ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’.

“Juventus are playing to win the cup. No doubts about that. Roma’s goal is to reach the top. They have demonstrated the right mentality to become a kind of Liverpool, a team able to excel on the international stage,” said Alessandro Del Piero.

Although the former number 10 firmly believes in Monchi as an experienced sporting director, the world champion doesn’t agree with his choice of selling Radja Nainggolan.

“His loss could be really difficult to absorb for the team. He is a player able to make a difference. But I’m very curious and interested about Monchi’s work. Although Di Francesco fights against time, he can surprise us again. If Roma will do well I would be especially happy for my friend Daniele De Rossi. He is one of the great old guys still on the field. I wish him the best. “
