In today’s press conference, Roma sporting director Monchi clarified that the club has no intention to raise his bid for Leicester’s Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez.
“First of all, we haven’t spoken with anyone to sell Kevin Strootman. Also, Di Francesco and I will talk about the possibility to purchase a new defender only after this tour in Spain.
In reference to Mahrez’s situation. I confirm what I’ve already told you in the last press conference. Roma made an offer that we believe to be the right one for the acquisition of the player. We are talking about €30 million plus several extra bonuses.
Now it’s up to Leicester City. They have to decide what they want to do with the player.
I am very serene and positive. The roster is 90% completed.”
