CIES Football Observatory highlighted the 100 clubs from 31 top division championships of UEFA member associations that have on average fielded the oldest lineups in the domestic league matches played during the last six months.
It is interesting to know that the Italian side Chievo Verona (32.1 years) sits at the top of the table. Five other clubs have an average age on the pitch higher than 30 years. Three from Cyprus (AEK Larnaca, Nea Salamis, and Apollon Limassol), one from England (West Bromwich), and one from Greece (Kerkyra).
Agnelli’s team Juventus (29.55 years) is included in this special ranking. The White-and-Black of Turin, which in the last few years have dominated the Italian championship, will be forced, sooner or later, to rejuvenate the roster.
