Former Inter coach Roberto Mancini talked about his future while attending a UNICEF event in Rome.
(ANSA) – The charismatic Italian coach Roberto Mancini was asked about his future in the world of football. The former Inter coach also talked about the insistent rumors of him as a possible replacement for Spalletti. Although he denied any kind of negotiation he also seemed to wink at the giallorossi.
“Coach of the Italian national team? – It’s a very interesting and prestigious role. I believe that this hypothesis can be interesting for many people and, of course, it is so for me as well. I firmly believe that our national team will be very competitive in the next few years. I see that there are many interesting and talented players.
Inter? – I don’t regret having left Inter because there are more than valid reasons. I was sorry to have wasted a year and a half of work. It was exhausting to give the team a certain kind of mentality. Unfortunately, sometimes you lose valuable time when there’s a change of ownership. However, they didn’t understand that time is everything in football. It’s necessary to get things done fast.
Roma? – There is nothing going on with Roma. I would like another experience abroad after my duty in England. However, I live in Rome but I do not know what my future will be. There is nothing concrete in this moment. I am a professional and sometimes coaches go where they least expect it. I cannot deny rumors of one team or the other every day. Sometimes these rumors are true and sometimes they are not.”
