According to UEFA, four Italian teams will play in the 2018 Champions League due to the calculations relating to the UEFA ranking.

The rules established by UEFA for the Champions League highlights that the first four federations of the ranking will be entitled to four places in the group stage of the most important International competition for clubs. Spain, Germany, England, and Italy are confirmed in the first four places of the rankings. It doesn’t matter what will happen in the quarterfinals of the Champions League or whatever will be the final outcome of the two club competitions.

Italy will again have four teams in the Champions League 2018/19. This is what UEFA stated after releasing the calculations relating to the UEFA ranking. Moreover, at this stage, there will be no changes in the top six positions of the UEFA rankings.

In reference to the clubs, Real Madrid leads the standings ahead of Bayern Munich while Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus are the third, fourth, and fifth position.

This is definitely a good news for AS Roma as well. It will be pivotal to get the direct qualification to the Champions League this year. By doing so, the club of Trigoria could benefit from greater economic revenues and it will be probably able to keep its stars to properly compete against Juventus. From the next season, the AS Roma goal will always be to win the title but eventually, the giallorossi will also have the fourth position available to qualify in the most important International competition for clubs.
