Gazzetta dello Sport: Sabatini wants more than one defender

According to “Gazzetta dello Sport” Walter Sabatini, AS Roma’s sporting director, is going to pursue more than one defender. Mehdi Benatia’s saga is almost closed…between today and tomorrow the Moroccan defender is joining Guardiola’s guys…and Sabatini practically closed the deal for the Greek defender Kostas Manolas. However, Roma will pursue another defender as well.

The idea was to satisfy Rudi Garcia by signing Marko Basa, Lille’s defender, however the player is injured and Sabatini is not convinced anymore about this negotiation. The other name is that of the Colombian talent Éder Fabián Álvarez Balanta who is actually playing with River Plate. The Colombian defender would cost 7 million euro (almost the same price of Basa).
