A Greek colony in Rome!

It is still not an official deal but the left fullback Holebas seems to be a Roma player or at least almost a Giallorosso! A few minutes ago the Greek fullback landed in Rome to begin his Roman adventure.

Sabatini never sleeps and the expert Roma’s sporting director surprised everyone again. The Greek defender was actually playing with Olympiakos, the same club that recently closed the deal with Roma for Manolas. Another “bliz” and another purchase, Walter Sabatini confirms to be the king of the transfer market.

At the beginning of this transfer market window, Holebas had been proposed to Roma but Sabatini refused the offer. However, after the weak performances of the duo Cole-Emanuelson, AS Roma sporting director re-thought about the Greek fullback and he closed the deal. This move helps us understand that Rudi Garcia is not really happy about the British and the Dutch fullback. Probably Emanuelson will be more useful on the midfield line in a position a bit more offensive. Ashley Cole will have more time to improve his performance.

Holebas is in Rome today to undergo the medical and then sign the contract. Roma purchased him for 1.5 million euro, a low cost deal for an experienced player that could be really useful to Rudi Garcia!
