Roma showed great attitude and quality in the Serie A away win at Genoa. Three goals scored, three points, and fourth position in the standings. Fonseca praises his men.

A win achieved thanks to the great quality of his roster. But the tactical wisdom of the Portuguese coach made a difference as well. When Genoa had scored the equalizer and seemed to be confident, Fonseca replaced Mayoral with Cristante and played Mkhitaryan as a striker. The overall result is there to testify that choices, even if risky, can change the trajectory of matches.

It was a victory achieved with character and a strong attitude. We created opportunities to score more goals as well, but Genoa scored from the only mistake we made…I’m happy with the personality and character showed by the team.

We want to do better than we did last season. We are working to improve.

Paulo Fonseca said to DAZN after Genoa v Roma: 1-3

His tactical move has changed the match. Mkhitaryan scored a hat-trick and led his team throughout the match. Remarkable was the performance of Pedro as well.

Miki and Pedro have great experience. Miki knows how to play in that position, he is very smart and scored three important goals. He worked hard but the most important thing is the win.
