Fonseca knows that the next Serie A away match against Napoli could change the trajectory of this season. The Portuguese coach praises Napoli but he is confident Roma can do great.
All matches are tough when you want to get to the top and challenge the best teams. The season is long and the path to glory is always arduous. Paulo Fonseca is deeply focused on a match that can change the outcome of a season that began with many doubts but in which the group is demonstrating its quality.
The Giallorossi will be traveling to Naples to face “one of the best teams in the league,” as the Portuguese coach said in today’s press conference at the Fulvio Bernardini training center.
Roma has been doing great since the beginning of the current campaign. Pedro and Mkhitaryan “look like two kids who have just started playing. They always have a great attitude and motivation,” Fonseca said to the press. Their positive attitude and quality have been making a difference and tomorrow Edin Dzeko, Lorenzo Pellegrini and likely even Mancini and Ibanez will be available to face Gattuso‘s side.
Four months after Roma’s latest defeat, the Portuguese coach was also asked about this positive alchemy between him and the group.
We have improved in many things. The team has confidence and good attitude. It’s normal to have confidence when winning but we have improved a lot.
Paulo Fonseca said in today’s press conference ahead of Napoli-Roma
