The British defender left Roma right before the Europa League clash against Sevilla but Roma wants to bring Smalling back to the Eternal City.

According to several Italian outlets, the Giallorossi are still working on making the Chris Smalling deal happen. The British defender had left the Italian capital a few days ago because Roma and Manchester United were unable to find an agreement.

Since then, the Texan billionaire Dan Friedkin made significant steps ahead in the purchasing of the club of Trigoria as confirmed by the Giallorossi on their official website.

Roma wants Chris Smalling back in the Eternal City. The British centre-back led the defense of the Giallorossi this season playing 37 matches and scoring 3 goals and 2 assists.
