The Albanian defender has been on Roma’s agenda for quite a while. The maxi-negotiation with Napoli for Under and Milik may somehow include Hysaj as well.

When complicated negotiations do not seem to unlock, other players may be included to find the right balance. Reportedly, Roma and Napoli have not found an agreement for the UnderRiccardiMilik swap yet. Also, the Partenopei would be interested in Jordan Veretout as well but the Giallorossi consider the Frenchman untouchable.

Although some think that Fonseca does not want to return to his preferred tactical scheme (4-2-3-1), with the right players, the Portuguese coach could, instead, have the possibility to develop his football on the pitch as he did when he coached Shakhtar Donetsk.

Elsid Hysaj seems to be a great option for the right defensive side in a 4-man backline. Bruno Peres could be his replacement while Spinazzola and the talented Calafiori would operate on the left flank.

The price-tag of the Albania international may be about €15 million at this time. His current contract with Napoli is set to expire in June 2021. This would be the right moment for Roma to try a move for the 26-year-old.

With Alessandro Florenzi reportedly close to Everton, Santon and Juan Jesus possibly on their way out of Roma, Fonseca would also have the possibility to bet on Rick Karsdorp next season.
