Italian football clubs have been changing their business model adapting it to that of the solid British powerhouses. Commercial revenue is increasing.
According to the ReportCalcio 2020 published by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the clubs of the ‘Bel Paese‘ have been working hard on increasing their commercial revenue.
Although broadcasting revenue is still the main source of revenue (in the 2018-19 campaign were up 11.8%), most of the Italian football clubs are developing and implementing new strategies to diversify their source of income.
As reported in the ReportCalcio 2020 published by FIGC in collaboration with Agenzia di Ricerche e Legislazione (AREL) and PwC, the Italian football clubs, which had already recorded a substantial increase in commercial revenue in 2017-2018 (+9.5%), did even better in the 2018-19 season (+19.7%).
