The Turkish player could be traded out if the right offer will land on Petrachi’s desk. Roma may financially benefit from Under’s sale.

The €1M spent by the Giallorossi on January 30, 2020, to bring Carles Perez in the Italian capital may have changed the future of Cengiz Under at Roma. The Giallorossi signed the talented Spaniard from Barcelona, the deal will be made permanent on July 1, 2020, when the Lupi will pay extra €11 million to the Blaugrana. The contract of Carles Perez will expire in 2024.

In light of that and thinking about Nicolò Zaniolo‘s imminent return, Cengiz Under may be a player on his way out of Roma. The sporting director of the Lupi needs to bring fresh cash into the Roma coffers, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic halted global football.

Hi residual cost on the Roma accounts should be approximately €9M. Although the parameters of the transfer market may have changed and the overall value of players is lower than before, Under is still a great talent very much appreciated by several European clubs.

Nobody knows if a top-side will make a bid to snatch the Turkey international from Roma, but the Lupi have that role very well covered by two great talents at this time (Perez and Zaniolo). The club of Trigoria may have the possibility to make a profit by accepting an eventual serious offer for Cengiz Under. According to the transfer values tool developed by CIES Football Observatory, his current value is between €30-40 million.
