The club of Trigoria believes Smalling is a priority for Fonseca. Roma’s sporting director Petrachi is trying to make this deal happen.

There are good players in a roster as well as those who make a difference and must be confirmed. Chris Smalling seems to be a top priority for Paulo Fonseca.

According to the Italian transfer market expert, Alfredo Pedullà, Roma still has chances to keep Smalling on its roster. Reportedly, Manchester United has been asking for more than €20 million and many other clubs are chasing the player as well. But his desire is to stay at Roma and his agents are working to lower the request of the Red Devils.

Chris Smalling would be a great purchase for the Giallorossi, an experienced player who would give continuity and consolidation to the defense.
