Emerson Palmieri, a tough start at Roma but Spalletti changed everything

Former Roma fullback Emerson Palmieri spoke about his experience at Roma. The Chelsea man also thanked Spalletti for giving him the chance to shine.

A player’s career can definitely be enhanced by a coach. This is exactly what happened to Emerson Palmieri during his spell at Roma.

When the former coach of the Giallorossi Luciano Spalletti gave him a chance, the Brazilian defender impressed everyone. Thanks to his convincing performance he became a starter for the Lupi and had the opportunity to play with the Italian national team as well.

“The first 5-6 months at Roma have not been easy but then Spalletti arrived. He did a great job with me and everything went very well,” Emerson Palmieri said to Sky Sport.

The Brazilian fullback spent great words for his former coach: “I can only thank him. He always protected me when I needed help. Having the confidence of such a coach makes the difference.”
