The Portuguese coach presented the next Europa League clash against Gent but Fonseca was also asked about Pellegrini’s moment.

Roma are an ambitious club and wherever there’s ambition there’s also pressure. Paulo Fonseca knew that before he decided to accept the head coach role of the Giallorossi. Even the players are aware that Rome can give you a lot in terms of emotions and passion if you perform well.

Lorenzo Pellegrini is the perfect example of a talented player who needs to improve to cope with pressure. But Fonseca believes that the Italian midfielder may have suffered from the responsibility of the moment.

“We have no excuse. The problem is the moment of the team. Pellegrini suffered more from the responsibility of the moment than for the injury. He must be more balanced,” Paulo Fonseca said to the press today.

It’s not easy to play for a top club. Roma need certainties to reach their seasonal goals. Pellegrini has room for improvement but he needs to make that necessary leap in quality as soon as possible.

“He has proven to be a great player and man,” Fonseca said to the press ahead of Roma-Gent. Pellegrini may be a great resource for his beloved team albeit he didn’t perform well in the last few games.
