Fonseca hopes in Dzeko. The Bosnian is the leader who can revive Roma

Roma’s next Serie A clash against Atalanta may be the most important of the season. A defeat would compromise their qualification for the UCL.

Fonseca’s group doesn’t need many leaders at this time but players capable of facing challenges without suffering pressure, experienced players, men who can change direction to a season that seems to be terribly complicated.

The one who should give a beneficial shock may be the new captain of the Giallorossi. Edin Dzeko can be the driving force of a group that seems to have been lost at the start of the new year.

Although some complaint about his low efficiency in front of the goal, in the current Serie A season, the Bosnia international scored 10 goals in 23 matches. Dzeko played an average of 85 minutes per game (21 caps as a starter).

His current scoring frequency is one goal every 195 minutes but what he does for his teammates all over the pitch is simply remarkable. Dzeko is a striker and a trequartista at times. The Bosnian is the beacon who gives light to the offensive plays of Fonseca’s side.

Roma have been scoring many goals but the group is terribly suffering from the lack of balance that Diawara had mitigated. The Guinean midfielder may be considered Roma’s most critical absence so far.

Paulo Fonseca hopes in Dzeko. The Bosnian is the leader who can revive Roma.
