The coach of the Giallorossi spoke about Florenzi’s departure but he also highlighted that he has a good group of fullbacks.
The January transfer window is now over and nothing else can change. Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi brought three new players in the eternal city and he made Florenzi happy sending him to play in Valencia.
At the press conference ahead of Sassuolo-Roma, Paulo Fonseca also spoke about the departure of the former captain of the Lupi.
“Alessandro wanted to play more…He spoke to me and the club,” Fonseca said yesterday. “He had the opportunity to go to Valencia and he made that choice.”
Even if Florenzi is not part of his roster anymore, the coach of the Lupi is not afraid. He believes in the quality of his group of fullbacks.
Fonseca also praised Bruno Peres for his improvements. The Brazilian has a characteristic that the Portuguese coach really likes. He knows how to play the offensive phase: “Bruno Peres is improving every day. He is strong going forward.”
Santon, Spinazzola, Cetin, and Zappacosta can play on the right flank as well. Fonseca is happy with his fullbacks and confirmed that Roma made a few acquisitions thinking about the future of the club.
