Barcelona’s coach Setien spoke about Perez’s move to Roma. He didn’t reveal his conversation with the player but believes the winger can do well in Italy.
When a new coach arrives in a club he has to make changes. A new tactical approach, a new way to defend or develop offensive strategies. Quique Setien wants to see his side to dominate the opponents.
Although Carles Perez had a few chances to play when Valverde was the coach of the Blaugrana (13 caps, 3 goals, 3 assists, 707 minutes), Setien and the executives of the club decided to trade him out.
“It was a shared decision. I spoke to the guy and I was very clear. But I’m not going to talk about private conversations and about decisions taken by the club. I just give my opinion and I don’t have much more to say,” Quique Setien said today during the press conference.
When asked again about Carles Perez’s move to Roma, Setien stated: “Of course I spoke to the club and with the guy. He perfectly knows what I said to him and my opinion was even that of the club. It was therefore decided that this was a good option [for Perez to move to Roma].”
