Roma, the most important thing in football is to score goals

The Giallorossi played a sloppy match yesterday. Roma’s offensive efforts were defused by Torino’s backline. Fonseca looks for a remedy.

You can keep possession for a long time moving the ball quickly but if you are not able to score goals the final result will likely be disappointing.

In the post-match interviews, the Portuguese coach clearly mentioned Roma’s lack of consistency in front of the goal albeit the Giallorossi have top offensive players.

“We had a great weak of training after the break. It’s not a matter of attitude otherwise we wouldn’t have had all these opportunities. In football it is a matter of scoring goals,” Paulo Fonseca had said to Sky.

The Giallorossi shot on goal 31 times but only 7 times on target. Their offensive efficiency is not predictable at times. The group suffers when the opponents defend well and develop fast counterattacks.

Mazzarri attacked Roma’s right side prompting his men to press Florenzi. The Granata created the most dangerous opportunities from that flank but the overall performance of the Lupi has been weak.

Football can be fierce at times. You can manage possession as much as you want but the most important thing is to score goals.
