The Giallorossi will face the champions of Italy tomorrow and Fonseca firmly believes Roma need to be totally focused to defeat Juventus.
Some think these matches are easy to plan. When you face the best Italian team in front of your fans, you don’t have to be afraid. But there’s much more to think about, though.
Roma host Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday (2:45 PM EST). It’s going to be a very tough match for the Giallorossi against a super team that would likely qualify for the Champions League even playing with those players who often sit on the bench.
Paulo Fonseca seems to be confident and positive, though. In the press conference ahead of Roma-Juventus, he stated: “in these matches, you need defensive rigor. We have to defend high and far from our goal. But we even have to stay compact to limit the space between the lines.”
Fonseca knows that Juventus have the ability to put Roma in trouble if stars like Ronaldo and Dybala have space to play and give vent to their creativity.
“We will face a team that is very good when they find space between the lines. We have to stay focused and compact,” Fonseca said to the press today.
