The Lupi played a wonderful Derby della Capitale at the Stadio Olimpico today. Roma-Lazio ended 1-1 but Fonseca and his group would have deserved more.

A beautiful game in front of a sublime and passionate audience. The Derby della Capitale ended 1-1 but the Giallorossi would have deserved the three points today.

Paulo Fonseca played Santon and Spinazzola on the defensive flanks and his choices put Simone Inzaghi‘s team in real danger. Cengiz Under did great on the right offensive side and Edin Dzeko scored the opener and supported his teammates in both phases.

“We played a great match and we would have deserved to win. We always have to play with this courage and attitude,” Fonseca said during the press conference right after Roma-Lazio. “Even if we didn’t win, I’m very proud of my guys. They would have deserved a different result.”

The Giallorossi dominated the match today but Lazio scored the equalizer thanks to an unbelievable mistake of Pau Lopez. Remarkable performance by Smalling, Cristante, Under, and Dzeko.

Roma outperformed their city rivals in the Derby della Capitale, a wonderful performance that may give confidence to Fonseca’s group.
