The Portuguese coach knows the rivalry between Roma and Juventus and confirms the club is working to fill the gap with the best Italian sides.
It’s not easy to shape a team but it is even more difficult to change the mentality of the players. Paulo Fonseca is working to reach the highest level in Italian football.
In the press conference ahead of Roma-Juventus, the Portuguese coach focused on ambitions once again.
“It’s a problem of mentality and ambitions…If we want to get to the first positions close to Juventus and the other big [teams], we can’t make mistakes against these teams [Torino]. It’s a matter of mentality and we are working to change it,” Paulo Fonseca said to the press today.
When asked if the Giallorossi will be able to compete for the title in the next few years, Fonseca clearly stated: “We are working for a stronger Roma. In a short amount of time, we are creating the conditions for Roma to be able to compete with Juventus and Inter.”
