The Giallorossi improved their performances from the previous year. Fonseca is having a great impact on Roma (Stats).
After a troubled 2018-19 campaign, Roma’s management decided to sign Paulo Fonseca to reshape the Lupi.
The Portuguese coach landed in the Italian capital with a lot of work to do but his first semester has been simply stunning.
Roma collected 35 points this season, 11 more than the previous year (10W, 5D, 2L). The Giallorossi have been playing attractive and efficient football domestically and on the international stage.
They are currently holding a Champions League position and ready to chase their city rivals Lazio, a team that has been doing great since the beginning of the season.
Roma seem to be a solid team. Fonseca’s group is confident in their quality and scored the opener 11 out of 17 times. Their average minutes trailing (3.3 mins) confirms that the Lupi almost always have a great approach to the matches.
The Giallorossi have room for improvement in 2020. Paulo Fonseca had about 7-8 injured players on a weekly basis but he managed to inject his football credo in his players’ mind.
These definitely are positive numbers for the 2020 final sprint.
