Federico Fazio is confident that his team wants to collect three more points against Fiorentina even if the next match in Tuscany will definitely be tough.
“The match against Fiorentina is important. We want to end the year well before the break,” Fazio said to Sky Sport today.
The defender also spoke about the great feeling between the team and the Portuguese coach. Paulo Fonseca slightly modified his tactical system to adapt it to Italian football.
“We still have to work a lot. We have a new coach with new ideas. We need a little time to implement what the coach wants from us.” But Fazio also believes the Giallorossi made great progress recently: “Now the team and the coach understand each other well.”
The Argentine could replace Chris Smalling on Friday. The Englishman is still recovering from a recent injury and he may miss Fiorentina-Roma.
