Juan Jesus and Kalinic could be on their way out of Roma

The defender and the striker have not played consistently so far and Fonseca may let them go. Jesus and Kalinic can be traded out in January.

Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi seems to be ready to adjust Paulo Fonseca’s roster in January. The Portuguese coach needs a new striker to help Dzeko and a new defender if Juan Jesus leaves the Italian capital.

Reportedly, the Brazilian player may be close to Bologna. Juan Jesus is a reliable defender capable of playing as a center-back or on the right defensive flank but Fonseca relegated him on the bench quite often this season.

Nikola Kalinic joined the Giallorossi last summer but his first four months in the eternal city have been disappointing. Although he picked up a knee injury, the Croatian made 4 appearances and played only an average of 19 minutes per match.

This is the moment to make the right choices. Petrachi seems to be ready to help Fonseca even more. The Italian sporting director is also trying to set up a deal with Manchester United for Chris Smalling.

Roma are competing for a Champions League spot but the Portuguese coach is an ambitious man and he may want to try to reduce the gap with Juventus and Inter.
