The Turkish talent can be a decisive player if he plays following Fonseca’s tactical directives.
After his last appearance with his national team, Cengiz Under had clearly stated to be ready to give a great contribution to Roma as well.
“I’m ready to give my best for Roma again. I want to do the best things for my career improving step by step,” had said the Turk.
But Under failed to impress in the Serie A away match against Hellas Verona at Stadio Bentegodi. Only 23 touches and 12 possession lost for the talented right-winger.
Tomorrow against Inter, Cengiz Under will probably sit on the bench with Nicolò Zaniolo in charge of the operations on that offensive flank.
“He must improve. It’s true, he didn’t play a good match against Hellas Verona,” Paulo Fonseca stated in today’s press conference ahead of Inter-Roma. “He was injured but he must improve tactically and in the defensive phase.”
The 22-year-old needs to speed up his growth process. With Zaniolo ahead of him, the Turkey international risks of having little chance of regaining the confidence of the Portuguese coach.
