Fatigue hampers Roma’s run against Parma 2-0

The Giallorossi suffer a burning defeat against Parma at the Stadio Tardini. Roma’s players were tired after the recent Europa League efforts.

Ball possession and nothing more. Although I should mention Kolarov‘s unlucky free-kick that hit the post and Pastore‘s immediate shot prodigiously diverted out by Sepe, it seemed to be clear that the Giallorossi were tired and not ready to impress at the Stadio Tardini.

Roma started today’s match dominating the scene but Fonseca’s group never managed to put the opponents in real danger. The Gialloblu, instead, carefully waited for their moment to then hit the Lupi on the counter.

Although Gervinho had to leave the pitch right before the end of the first half, his replacement (Sporcati) played a good match and scored the opener with a fortunate volley from inside the box.

8 shots on target for D’Aversa‘s side and 6 for the Giallorossi. If possession does not develop as it should, the pace of play decreases and the effectiveness is nullified by the opponents. The international break may give Fonseca the possibility to recover a few players. His group was really tired today.
