The Portuguese coach believes too many games to play can affect the top players. Fonseca spoke to the press ahead of Sampdoria-Roma.
Nobody knows if Roma and Sampdoria will face each other tomorrow. Due to incoming weather conditions, the match could be postponed. In today’s press conference ahead of the next Serie A clash that will take place at the Stadio Marassi, Paulo Fonseca was also asked about the many injuries that are affecting many players.
“I recently expressed my concern about this issue which is affecting all teams. Players are involved in different matches with their clubs and their national teams. It’s not possible to play all these games in such a short period,” confirmed Fonseca to the press.
Roma’s coach also pointed out that the top players are the most affected ones: “They are suffering many injuries in this period.” Fonseca firmly believes that those who manage football should solve this issue as soon as possible: “People pay to see the best players.”
Football is a great sport made of passion and excitement but top players are necessary to make the fans dream!
