Roma-Serie A: 9 Potential Starters 30 Forced Absences

Fonseca is training a group with many injured. Several players are out and Roma is struggling to play his offensive football.

Although Roma’s fans are disappointed because they do not see their team playing attractive football there’s something that we must take into consideration. The sporting director of the Giallorossi Gianluca Petrachi made a few very good acquisitions last summer. He gave his coach two players for each role but the current situation is hard to believe.

Paulo Fonseca is losing players each game due to unexpected and serious injuries. If we take into consideration only the 9 injured players that could be potential starters in Fonseca’s team, we can highlight scary numbers.

In only 8 Serie A matches, Fonseca had to face 30 absences due to injuries. Most of them still have a long journey ahead of them before they can be available again. This is the case of Kalinic, Cristante, Zappacosta, Diawara, and Pellegrini.
