The Dutchman spoke to the press after today’s Europa League match Wolfsberger-Roma. Kluivert was hoping for a win but the game went differently.
Wolfsberger-Roma ended 1-1 and both sided are now sharing the first position of Group J. Paulo Fonseca made several changes in his starting 11 but he chose Kluivert once again. Although the Dutch U-21 international could have played better today, he seems to be an important piece of Fonseca’s roster.
“It was not the result we expected. We knew it would be complicated. I expected a win but they played a good match. We struggled but we had opportunities to win,” said Justin Kluivert to Sky after the match.
The Giallorossi were not cynical today. Roma could have scored more goals but Wolfsberger showed a great team spirit. The Austrian side pressed the Lupi high. “Their goal gave them confidence and energy. We suffered after that goal. We should have capitalized on our opportunities.”
